2001 S engine into 2000 S and no coolant temp

We put a 40K mile S engine and transmission into our 103K mile 2000 with blown engine and now do not have any coolant temperature indicating on instrument cluster. :(

Any suggestions????

For the pupose of this topic the 2000 & 20001 engines are identical, so there was a error somewhere in the R&R process. Did you try swapping the original temp sensor onto the replacement engine? Also need to ensure coolant is at proper level & no air pockets in cooling system by bleeding air out. I would guess the latter is most likely cause. Search forum for proper bleed procedure.
