Charles,
Why didn't you get official Porsche 986 lettering?

particlewave 08-27-2015 09:50 AM

I originally bought these for the batwing as an experiment, but thought they may look good on the rear lid, also.
Not a fan of the cursive script style letters/numbers and the only "986" (968) that I've found are available in black only. I thought that would probably clash.

I'm going to use the university's 3D printer and/or water jet, I think. If you want it done right...
Scheduling time on them may take a while, though.

A little larger than I had envisioned, but I think I like it...for now. ;)

Just ordered the numbers, will install them on the batwing :)

Hey, those numbers might make a great cap. Glue them to the front of an otherwise blank cap.

What is the orange button?

That's the dimmer for Fred's SkyBreaker illuminated wind stop ;)

Did you do this yet?

After looking at it for a while, I think it may look good (better?) on the right side of the dash under the trim.

I may try this...

No, didn't glue them yet :o
But I think I'll stick with the batwing.

IMHO, they look best centered on the trunk.

They're too big on the batwing, they dominate the space. Unless that's what you're going for.

You have the numbers upside-down in all the pictures. You need to turn it over.
