18 inch wheels

So in my search for wheels, I'm finding on Ebay, many sets of those "lite" or "Carerra Lite OEM" sets for about $1000.
Does this seem reasonable?

CHRISP357 08-16-2015 02:20 PM

Never mind. Found a great deal from a Rennlist member and bought them.

Pdwight 08-16-2015 04:29 PM

CHRISP357 08-16-2015 05:43 PM

As soon as they get here! I'll try to get them on this weekend.

Wow, I like those

JayG 08-19-2015 07:40 PM

cool duallys on a Boxster

CHRISP357 08-19-2015 07:51 PM

Can't wait to get them on. Cheap tires but virtually new so I'll finish this season on them. Quite happy thus far!

Chuck W. 08-19-2015 08:29 PM

IMHO, those are the best looking wheels going. The 2004 SE two tone ones are even better!

Retroman1969 08-20-2015 02:50 AM

Beautiful!
I'm anxious to see what they look like on your car. :)

I have the same wheels
They are the best!

CHRISP357 08-20-2015 09:38 AM

Hopefully the colored crest caps off my turbo twists will fit. In other news, I'm definitely going to have to paint my pinkish calipers now. Maybe I'll run them until hibernation time.

RandallNeighbour 08-20-2015 10:05 AM

I have the aftermarket ones from eBay... they're HEAVY. Lite my arse!

They're also not forged like genuine Porsche wheels and you need to avoid using them on a track or for autocross.

epapp 08-20-2015 10:39 AM

Are these knock offs or genuine carrera Lites that you bought? We can tell if you post a picture of the read wheel.

911monty 08-20-2015 11:08 AM

Deleted!!!!

JayG 08-20-2015 01:12 PM

the center caps should be the same

jacabean 08-20-2015 01:49 PM

you guys need to get away from stock wheels . I picked these up last year and painted the rim arctic silver and the centers seal gray .

Need to? I think not! We need to have what we like, and I like my Carrera Lites :p!

Also, I bet mine are easier to clean !

CHRISP357 08-20-2015 02:38 PM

Those look nice, I just prefer these stock lites. I also like the fact that I won't see them on a Honda with a coffee can for a muffler. These are just classy looking wheels.

2004 "50 years of 550 Spyder" edition wheels:

Boom!

CHRISP357 08-20-2015 02:46 PM

Yeah, like that!

jacabean 08-20-2015 03:39 PM

Carrera lites are a nice choice but they are not BBS LMs and trust me you will not see these on any honda . IF you search and are patient you can find some great deals on older premium wheels .

jacabean 08-20-2015 03:46 PM

When I want a little bling , i'll throw on my 19's

jacabean 08-20-2015 03:50 PM

The only thing that stinks about getting a new set of wheels is having to fork out for tires. :eek

CHRISP357 08-20-2015 07:34 PM

Don't know if this means real or knock off but they're 2 lbs lighter than my turbo twists. Although the difference could be tires.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1440128017.jpg

911monty 08-20-2015 07:44 PM

Those are real! The Borbet on the inner flange is the Boxster version and should be marked 7.5 50 at the valve stem. The ones that are marked BBS on the inner flange are 8.0 and were for the 996. Same wheels as I have. I really like them. In fact I have a wheel cut down and made into a wall clock!
