986 repairs can be so easy

I just have to point out, brake jobs, removing and replacing bulbs in the instrument cluster, replacing headlight bulbs are the easiest repairs on the Porsche Boxster 1999 model than I have ever done on any other car.

The clutch was a dream compared to my Ranger.

I would agree - I did the water pump - way easier than my Jeep

serpentine belt is easy too. Might want to do that if your 99 still on the original.

I'd have to agree... Boxsters come apart and go together like the old Snap-Tite models when I was a kid, but the parts are much more expen$ive for these cars than most other cars I've owned previously.
I DIY as much as I can on my Boxster. I left CV boots for my indie because I would have had to buy $150 worth of tools first and spend a whole day or more getting greasy. I just wanted it out of winter hibernation and fixed ASAP so I could drive it!

Over the course of getting estimates for struts installed I was surprised at the number of shops who dont work on Porsche, some just claimed to not have the tools to do so (Im calling suspension shops here). I asked the shop that had the best estimate, by a damn sight btw, is Porsche really that much different to work on than any other car? Made me chuckle when he responded "no" so quickly.

Then entire engine was replaced at 37.5k in 2008 with a Porsche factory rebuilt to original 2.5l specs. I'm at 90.5k now in 2015.

I did my front suspension this spring lower control arm, diagonal control arm, drop links, sway bar bushing, the tie rod looked great, I love my Boxster!!
