CV joint removing dust caps method
 
:confused: Anybody have a clever way to remove those golden domes off the end of the CV/axle. The axle is still in the car, I just dropped it down to change the boots. The caps are putting up a fight!

I am not sure if it works but if you have a heat gun it may help to soften the many years of gunk (or sealant..?) that may be holding the caps to the bearing... good luck!
