Bent rim??
Had a fresh rear set put on. Had a very noticeable wobble @ 35 & 65.
Tire guy shows me the inside edge has a significant dent outwards. Still seals. Just dropped it off to be straightened. What kind of road hazard must I have hit??? I swear it's been driven on smooth surfaces and never a pot hole I can think of. |
Man the last time I was up there I don't think there was a freeway or road that wasn't being worked on! Road construction everywhere.
Strange you didn't notice before the tire change though! The take off show any weird wear? |

All seriousness aside, you must have hit something, maybe some road construction? could have been a rock in the road In any case, unless the wheel is really badly bent, you should be fine after the repair. Make sure they re balance it, preferably with a Road Force balancer |

Doesn't take much. I bent a BBS RK wheel simply hitting it at the wrong angle going barely 5 mph.
It was straightened, bent again later on. Cast alloy doesn't like being straightened. Maybe the newer pressure cast alloy is better. My next set of wheels will at least have a forged flange. The prices of these cast alloys that are at least light weight is just too high not to go forged. |
