A clean filter!
Did first oil change (by myself). Word of caution...don't leave the oil pan underneath when driving off the car ramps! I crushed the large kitty litter pan and spilled a good amount of oil on the driveway, jeez.. Long story short: I had one of those magnetic drain plugs (trace of carbon black residue on it). About the drain plug: Back and forth several times to Pep Boys. First I tried an 8mm thinking it was same as OEM drain plug, nope....returned it for a 10mm (just on a hunch) nope...then said hell with it and bought a set of allen sockets and found the 9mm was the one! And hard to believe this little 2.5L takes 9 quarts. I also cut open the filter...not a single trace of metal particles. Just turned 128k miles...:o

That's great news, no bits in the filter!
Its better to have the car level and warmed up when changing the oil. That helps to get as much old oil out as possible |
