Rail, If you look on the WheelEnhancement site, you'll see that for your 987 you'll want what is described as the 2002 996 Carrera 5-spoke wheels and not the Carrera III's.

The reason is that you can get 8" wide rims on the front and 9" wide rims on the rear, just as you have with your stock 18" 987 wheels. (If you want, you can swap out and use your same tires on these wheels.)

The one wrinkle is that you will need spacers on the rear wheels (15mm, IIRC), given the different offset. (As a result, your lugs won't match perfectly, since you'll still use the same stock concave lug bolts on the front, but you'll need lug nuts on the rear with the spacers. I've never seen concave lug nuts that match -- if you get the same finish, they'll be convex on the top. If you don't point this out to anyone, you'll probably be the only one that notices, because the wheels are fantastic.)

P.S. Just FYI, these wheels came out on the 2002 996, with 8" and 10" widths, and then they were made optional on the 2003 986 S, with 7.5" and 9" widths. For the 987, you can "mix and match" and use the 8" on the front and the 9" on the rear.

Tell your wife that you want these wheels because they remind you of her in her high heels.

sweet advice SoCal about the high heels! Any suggestions, though on the comeback if she says something about the exhaust pipe and the "high heels" up in the air???
