Sport Chrono clock?
Can that be added after the fact without a whole new dash?

You could always do what this guy did, if you can bring yourself to do it:

anybody know where the clock is wired into on the 987 my parents boxster was in an accident and they put a sports chorine dash in but never hooked it up

I looked into this a couple of months ago. The Sport Chrono "clock" is controlled over CAN, therefore it cannot be retrofit into a vehicle not designed for it as it requires CAN messages to control it (turn on, stop, start, reset, etc.) which would not be present in a car not equipped with the Sport Chrono package. Often options can be "enabled" by programming at the dealer, but this is only even possible if the vehicle was offered with the option.
Sooo, if you want to install a display like the guy that took the hole saw to his dash did, that would work. If you want to retrofit working Sport Chrono clock you are pretty much out of luck. |
Would some retro rally timers suit your purpose?
