I'm going to have a Nephrite Green interior car someday. Hopefully with an Ocean Jade Metallic exterior.

Nephrite Green is awesome with some exterior colors, but I don't think Speed Yellow is one of them...

Porsche9 07-10-2015 07:50 PM

All I have say is :barf:

Giller 07-10-2015 07:50 PM

That looks fugly in the pictures....wow.

BoxsterSteve 07-10-2015 08:03 PM

People on drugs should not special order cars.
Ever.

BIGJake111 07-10-2015 08:07 PM

It doesn't work. But that makes it seem like a gemballa, I think I like it because it doesn't work, kinda novel.

911monty 07-10-2015 08:21 PM

Reminds me of some of the hideous stuff that came out in the 70's:barf: And yes I'm sure drugs before, during and after ordering those cars were heavily involved.

thstone 07-10-2015 08:28 PM

I read the title and thought, no way. I had to click thru just to see it for myself. It was true.

Speechless.

bobbeck 07-10-2015 11:27 PM

It deserves all the attention it's getting. It's just that good!

Throw in some blue floor mats and Brazilian soccer fans will scoop it up in a heart beat!

oc-boxster 07-11-2015 05:12 AM

Go packers!

78F350 07-11-2015 05:28 AM

At first, brain told eyes, "No, no, ...no.", but I keep going back.

I did a quick image search for "colors that don't work" and there were actually quite a few with those colors.

Found these that actually carry the theme nicely:

If I had 17k sitting in my PayPal, I'd probably be top bidder at the moment. :D

Joe B 07-11-2015 05:51 AM

In Colorado, he was probably smoking something pretty good :p. I actually like it, sort of. Price is high though. I got my 2003 S for $2,500 less, although it isn't yellow and green ;).

But it isn't even close to the right color of green! Shocking there are no bids:confused: Definately a candidate for an interior swap.

Six owners. Six people looked at that color combo and said, "I must have."

I'm telling you guys, it's not ugly. It's fine art.

That is awesome and awful at the same time. I am surely too conservative to ever go for it but not surprised some people will. I have to say I do love yellow though. I saw one on the road a little while back and it was quite eye catching in a good way.

husker boxster 07-11-2015 08:01 AM

If it's not 1 of 1, it should be.

Quick math says 6 owners = 2.5 yrs and 6500 mi per owner. Each probably bought it and then realized what a mistake they made (or friends had to tell them). I like the "Finally got the strength to put my baby up for sale" quote. That could have several meanings.

thstone 07-11-2015 09:58 AM

Car fax says the following;

Sold: Jan, 2000 (original owner)
Sold: Sept, 2002 with only 885 miles! (owner refused to be seen in public in the car?)
Sold: Feb, 2007 with 20K miles (this owner was proudly flying those colors!)
Sold: Mar, 2010 mileage unknown
Sold: June, 2013 mileage unknown

particlewave 07-11-2015 10:39 AM

Looks like a bad infection.

jdlmodelt 07-12-2015 07:43 PM

well the little vomitting emoticon is perfect here. the colors match. I have no idea who would order this combination? An eccentric artist? Van Gogh?
:barf:

Porsche Chick 07-13-2015 09:22 AM

But what color would look good with that interior?

If it's silver, it's like a 1950's sci-fi comic book. Red would make it a Christmas nightmare. Even black, which I previously thought looked good with Everything, doesn't work with this.

It's just Fugly. :barf:

woodsman 07-13-2015 11:27 AM

I can't stop looking! And it hurts. It's the yellow that's off.

Just watch. Some kid will buy it and show up on the site as a new member and post pics of it.

Would it not be interesting to see his face when he stumbled upon this thread?

There was a guy on this forum a couple of years ago who had a box with this same color interior in it and he photographed it every week and posted the pics. He sold that car and made good money on it as I recall.

Just goes to show you that some people like odd colors and will pay you a premium for it. There's just not too many of them and resale can't be a quick proposition. Buy red exterior and black interior if you want that!

BruceH 07-13-2015 03:05 PM

Maybe he/she is an old DC9/MD80 pilot!

MY EYES!!!!! I may never recover.

The Radium King 07-13-2015 03:32 PM

lapic, ocean, midnight or metropol

He was obviously colour blind. He was probably thinking it was a strange name for such a nice tone of red. Usually rarity makes something more valuable. Maybe not in this case.

Ckrikos 07-15-2015 07:56 PM

I would take a black, white, or silver 986 or 996 with nephrite full leather interior. With the right exterior color it will be looked upon and coveted at concours events 10-20 years from now. Or they will continue to say what was that guy and Porsche smoking when they offered that color.

I think it's a very good looking color with a Ocean Jade Metallic exterior- it's my favorite color combinations in the late 90's/early 00's 9x6 cars.

I'd rock this every day and be a very happy cat. I might even give up one of my Boxsters for it. :D

Wow that is stunning! It's dated for sure, but it's nice to put yourself in the mindset of the times, no different then furniture from the 70s, it might not be cutting edge but hey I like it.

Speaking of changes of the times, race yellow looks better on the newer cars but simply by means of color I miss speed yellow.

Call me a nut but a speed yellow macan would look outstanding from behind!

Qmulus 07-16-2015 04:49 PM

It has been here for quite a while. I guess someone wanted a "one of one" collector car. Ugh...
