Becker CR22
 

I recently bought a Porche Boxster 3.2S (2002)that has a Becker CR22 radio/cassette/CD changer installed. The car did not come with an audio manual so I am having difficulty programming the stations. To add to the problem the display screen does not illuminate in daylight and in night time only pushes out a very dim red colour with no actual display on the screen. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

To program a station, with station playing, press button 1-10 for 2-4 seconds.

Regarding display illumination, this sounds like there's a problem. There's no adjustment I can find in the manual. These units are known to sometimes have a problem with the contacts between the faceplate and main unit, so it would be worthwhile to pull the faceplate and clean the contacts with alcohol.

The faceplate can be removed by pressing and holding the button that has a curved arrow to the right. The display will fold down, and can be pulled out.
