Factory rolled fenders...?
Ok, this is just a stupid, do nothing thread, but I'm curious and this a slow day on the forum...
My car came with 18 x 10's on the rear and 18 x 8's on the front. Front and rear fenders are rolled. Did they do this at the factory? I often see 18 x 10's for sale with the stipulation that spacers are needed, but none of my wheels have spacers. I realize this probably has something to do with offset, but I'm not a wheel guy and this is one area in which I'm somewhat ignorant. :o Just curious. I have no intention of changing wheels or anything like that. |

Rolled or normal?
I know, I need new tires. Cut me some slack :o http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/a...14797586F4.jpg http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/a...5153795A74.jpg |
Particlewave; Took photos of my car for comparison. Rear edge is flat. Front has rolled lip as yours. My car is a 98 and had original 16" wheels so I doubt they were rolled. Hope this helps.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01/rear1434739858.jpg

Your fenders are not rolled. Mine on my 2003 S are the same. They would not need to be rolled, and spacers would not be needed, because the 18" wheels yours came with were a factory Boxster option. The 18" wheels that need spacers are for 911s. I have 18x8 and 18x10 Carrera light wheels, which were put on my Boxster by the previous owner and need spacers, because the offset is for a Carrera, not a Boxster.

I think you're right. I didn't find any numbers by the valve stem, but did find the part #. 993.362.138.01
I guess they are 993 wheels. http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/a...3208D9EBA0.jpg |

Look on page 153. According to the Porsche original parts "USA_KATALOG.pdf," part # 993 362 138 01 is for stock, (2004) Boxster wheels in size 9 J x 18. You sure yours are 10"? Odd that they would list that part # for 9 J x 18" wheels if yours are 10"! Unless they changed the part number to indicate a different wheel width between 1999 and 2004... |
No, I'm not sure :)
They measure 10" OD (edge to edge), but I'm sure they are 9's based on the part # (probably measured bead to bead, not actual width). My fault...it was an off day. Took some Tylenol PM last night and have been really out of it all day :o |
