Deer at 65mph, clear coat question.
 

I went to get my 02 inspected this A.M. after the inspection rolled the top back for the trip home. cruising @ 65mph three deer came across the front of me missed 2 got the last one. One hoof mark on hood , fur on visor never touched the car except for a hoof drag on hood. My question is the hood needs a fix / repaint do I have to request a clear coat . I want it back close to factory spec. The car is very good shape . yes I felt the deer graze my head on the way by , Very lucky thats all.

Wow! I don't have advice for the hood, but I'm really glad that you're OK.

Deer grazed your head? Holy crap, I'd have been clenching for sure.

The car can always be repaired, people not so much so.

That makes my racing close call over the weekend sound like nothing! Glad that you're ok.

The body shop should know exactly what to do to match the original paint and finish. If they don't, go elsewhere.
