986 Top doesn't open - help!

Windows don't drop, clamshell doesn't move. Checked fuses, removed and reinserted relay, tried alternate relay, replaced microswitch for the latch receptacle, and the e-brake light does come on. I've tried being a little rough with the e-brake as well, and manually trigger microswitch to no avail.

ideas? I don't even mind having to manually move it, I'd just like to get the clamshell open for servicing and sunny days.

sounds like you have ruled out all the switches. Maybe you've got a bad connection in the wiring somewhere. Mine was the parking brake switch when I had that problem, at least yours isn't stuck open though :)
