I waved at a ...

train yesterday. The engineer waved back. Feeling good! :)

Any others out there?

Randy7601,

Good for you.

Earlier this week I flashed my lights at what I believed was my neighbor (coming at me from the opposite direction) in his silver 987 series Boxster (we normally exchange a wave or a flash of our high beams).

It wasn't my neighbor, but a local Porsche owner that drives a silver 997 TT. I see him often and this guy never returns a wave.

Sometimes it makes me believe all those nasty stereotypes about 911 drivers:-)

I had a very attractive blonde (20s) pull up next to me as I was starting the car. "Omg your car soooooo sexy. I'd love to have a rag top Carrera"

Me too!

I don't think most non-car people know that the Boxster and 911 Cab are two different cars.

For the early ones (most of?) the front end is identical. Just make sure they're looking at your car head on!

That should have worked in your favour when you offered to take her for a cruise in your ragtop "Carrera"!

There are quite a few Porsches in the area I live and they rarely return a wave. However, just about ever time I wave at a police officer they wave back.

Yesterday, ended up chatting at a stoplight with a guy in a silver Boxster, who claimed to be borrowing his wife's car.

Regarding flashing, I don't remember if it's the same in the US, but here a single flash is sometimes used to warn other motorists (in any brand car) of police speed control up ahead.
