Key ignition

Feels like something is out of place in my ignition, when I take the key out, the radio stays on so I have to put it back in and mess with it to turn it all the way off...I do realize that the radio stays on until I open and shut the door but this is not the case. Also sometimes its hard to put the key in. Started happening yesterday. Ive heard that it could be a sensor that is attached to the lock cylinder? Any help would be appreciated. 2001 Boxter

You probably need ...

... to replace the electrical portion of the ignition.

Here's all the info you need:
Replace Ignition Switch

Yes, you need to replace your ignition switch. 5 minute fix.

Just pull out the air duct and take a peek at the switch first. Esp if you are not the original owner, it in its pass it may have been updated to a white switch, if so, order a switch for a 2005 up,
