Clutch slipping between changes, pedal not returning quickly enough

Hi,

Ive been having issues with my clutch since the independent worked on it. I gave him a whole clutch kit including bearings, levers, washers and even new bolts!

When I got it back you couldnt 'quick change" in it because it wouldnt return quickly enough: it would therefore rev and slip between quick changes and would stink of burnt clutch!

It also burned on hill starts.

When in neutral you could push it and take your foot away and it would spring back but with a slight delay.

To help the dealer out (as he collected the car from a long way away) I bled the clutch but it didnt help.

Eventually he took it away and said that it was due to a broken return spring.

He has now changed the spring and bled the system.
It is much better (he claims 100%, more than 100%!) but to my mind it still doesnt perform properly, it still doesnt return quickly enough and still has a slight burning smell on quick changing.

Any ideas? Clearly Ill need to get a third party to look at it but getting him to pay will be the devils own work!

Thanks

David

Just did my own clutch. How does a return spring at pedal affect the pressure a clutch puts on the disc unless it's not letting the clutch disengage? Sounds like bad slave cylinder if clutch was done proper.
