Ramps ? Enough room for Oil Change and Spark Plugs?

Got a used 1999 Porsche Boxster want to change Oil and Plugs this weekend.

I gotta tell you that I despise Jacks / Jack kits etc.

I see people on YouTube and etc. doing ramps backing 986 Boxster up to do Oil Change. Is there enough room? Is there enough room for average size guy to use ramps to do a spark plug change.

I would rather use ramps than jack any day.

Looking at some basic Rhyno Plastic ramps at AutoZone for like $45.

Ramps will provide all the room you need to change the oil but to change the spark plugs it's easier if you remove the wheels.

Yeah, to change the spark plugs I removed the rear wheels and the front most rear wheel liner. Much easier that way. For oil changes plenty of room under the ramps.

I did both off the ramps - No Prob - a wee bit awkward for the plugs but quite doable.

I just did a spark plug change and oil change on Thursday. Put the car on jack stands, got my fat self under there and got it done. :) No wheel removal, no fender liner removal. It was a little slow-going on Cyl. #4, but doable when the A/C line was pushed out of the way. Right-side of the engine is far easier.

I did my plugs with the wheels off too. Much easier. You can just sit by the car and stick your hand in to do work. Especially when you need to wrestle with the tubes to get them out.

ramps

Ramps don't allow you to drain all of the oil out, it really needs to be level.
