Replace Fog lights with Led running lights - 2007

Hi,
For cosmetic reasons, I'd like to replace the factory lights on the left with led running lights on the right.
I have found several led light kits so my only question is, do the factory lights serve any real purpose? I did a quick check and they don't seem to contribute in any way to the turn signal lights, headlights or brights. I think these are the fog lights, but I would have no idea how to turn them on, so they're not doing me any good anyway. IS there any downside to this? Thanks

Foggers may be required in other countries.

Turn the knob on, then pull it out. One click is fronts, all the way pulled out is rear.

Have you checked to make sure both rears work?

Cosmetically, to each their own....but didn't your car come with an owners manual?

Did this Mod within a week of buying my 987 (also had DRL's on my old 986) they look fantastic imo,

There is also a modification to convert your Home switch function into a DRL switch, it takes about 10 minuets to do.
