'98 with heated seats? Or faked?

We got this 1998 model 986 and it's got what would appear to be heated seat switches on the center console. The image is attached.

They do not move at all. If you look very closely, it appears they've been glued into position. So my question becomes does the car have heated seats and some bonehead glued the switches for reasons unknown, or does it not have heated seats and someone just put the switches in there maybe because they got the replacement console part?

Is there an easy way to tell? If it DOES have heated seats, it looks like I'm in for a new assembly with new switches. Well.. new to me anyhow.

it is very easy to remove that section of console and look to see if they are connected. Someone might have spilled something in there and now the switches are frozen up .

Confirmed that the switches have something plugged in. I don't think it was a spill. But I guess anything is possible. It's just extremely solidified in there... I'd say it's super glue if I had to venture a guess. perhaps the switches were falling through and this holds them in. Dang it.

Should be in your codes. Look for the label under the frunk.

I fiddled with the switches and a razor blade and managed to get them freed up and moving. The passenger side works really well. Press it up once, red light. Press it up again, amber light. Press it down, no light. It seems to make some heat on the seat (though it's starting to feel like summer in Texas, so hard to tell for sure.

The driver side doesn't seem to work so well. Press it up and the red light flashes on then off. That's all it will do.

Does that sound like a bad switch? Or some other kind of trouble?

Nothing better than to drive on a cool night with the the top down, the stars out, and the heated seats on!
