Oil Pressure and oil temp gauges

Has anybody designed an electronic Oil pressure and oil temp gauges that would replace the useless analog speedometer.

I feel the analog speedometer is useless seeing that one has an very readable digital speedometer. It seems like a useful upgrade that would fit perfectly inplace of the analog speedometer.

Not exactly what you are asking for, but this may be an option to consider:

Some folks have swapped in a 996 gauge cluster. That will give you the oil pressure gauge, but not the oil temperature gauge:

Thanks, looks more involved than I want to get into. But I really appreciate your input.

If your car is old enough you can get oil temp to pop up on the climate control.

I'm actually a fan of analog instruments. Call me old school. The first time i flew a plane (where 50 rpm is important) with a digital tach i decided i didn't like them. With analog gauges properly placed you can see needles in your peripheral vision and with experience don't need to look away from the road. Look in any old school race car and you'll see the gauges all rotated oddly. When running WFO with everything good, all needles will point straight up.

Having said that, i agree that the boxster analog speedo is not properly located, and the scale that it sweeps across would probably get me arrested.

So you're up for cutting up and customizing a stock gauge cluster in a way that's likely never been done, but mounting a couple of new gauges in an existing blank panel is too complicated. Even if there was a drop-in kit (which there isn't) it would be much more of a challenge to install than Pedro's kits. I would have to suggest that perhaps your expectations aren't entirely realistic.

Here is a link to the very helpful project that Pedro's Garage did:
