So FY Ferdinand Porsche who give us nightmares about IMS.....;) |
if you still have the oil, send a sample to your local CAT dealer for analysis
I do ....but
The oil pan it ran into has been used for everything...one of those that traps the oil and you pour it out....no telling what is in the crevices and bottom. I need to actually find a new oil pan....this one almost runs over as the oil is draining from my Boxster
Pdwight, can you please give us the part number for the magnetic drain plug?
Thanks! |
Thank you sir!
Cheap early warning system
Yes, makes totally sense. Will order one and install at my next oil change.
Isn't that a metal flake at 9 o'clock?
Ha, ha. Made you look. :p
And no mention of or questioning oil weight or brand?????
Just do what my dad did when I was a kid. Dig a hole and pour the oil in and it magically vanishes back into the oil reserves. |

This is my 3rd oil change in 2 years, always Mobil 1 European formula
As for the Hex Key it is 8mm and I have never had a problem...19 foot pounds with my torque wrench and no leaks (new washer every time) I kinda like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mishimoto-Magnetic-Oil-Drain-Plug-M18-x-1-5-Black-MMODP-1815B/151660168895?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkpa rms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3 D30987%26meid%3D93db74bcd7014e4abcd3f88498b07763%2 6pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D3505514051 02&rt=nc BUt I like the big surface area of the one I am using |
