Oil pooling on the block behind alternator

Just thought I'd post this here as more traffic than in the DIY section but any idea why I have found oil pooling in the cast recesses in the engine block below the intake and directly behind where the alternator sits? Picture in the linked thread.

Most likely a cracked oil filler tube. This is not expensive but a bit of a pain to change.

Thanks. I guess it has to be something high up so will see if I can find a crack or if I can just re-seat it as I moved it when I changed the expansion tank last year.

Check to see if oil or power steering fluid.

oil on top of engine

I also had a similar oil pooling/leaking condition in that area. I had a leak in the oil fill tube joint right at the AOS vent hose location. With advice from this great site, I switched to a screw clamp on that oil fill tube joint. I am monitoring the leak. So far, looks better.
