My new wheel from Carsdream. I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.

KRAM36 05-11-2015 02:32 PM

I'm jealous! That's one of the wheels I've been looking at. Perfect color for our cars too!

Very nice!

Those are really nice looking and I am sure that they feel good in your hands too. Nice upgrade!

Chuck W. 05-11-2015 04:20 PM

Very cool. That is (IMHO) one of the must do mods on our cars. The looks and the feel are worth every penny. Nicely done.

Well including shipping back and forth to Poland it was around $250. They recovered it in the leather design you see, made it thicker and covered the back in leather as well. I don't think for the price it can be beat. I got the wheel off of here for $150. So for well under $500 I think it's a great deal.

KRAM36 05-11-2015 06:59 PM

How long did the process take? Link to the place that did it?

Pdwight 05-11-2015 07:04 PM

Oh My

That is beautiful.....tell us more

Porsche9 05-11-2015 09:16 PM

Yes, tell us more. How long did it take, how did you ship it, how did payment work, how did you communicate what you wanted, etc? The website I found has nice pictures but English is not their first language.

Well it took about a month and a half from when I sent it. I shipped it USPS. I payed in Euro's thru paypal. I sent them a picture from their website of what I wanted. I had them change some of the colors from the picture. All done thru email. The wheel came out exactly like I wanted. I'd say a picture is very helpful. They don't have the picture I used on their website anymore, i noticed they took a lot of them down. If you like the way my wheel looks, i'd just send them that picture and tell them what colors work for you. If anybody needs a pic of my wheel I can send it to you via email or pm.

The way it works is you send the pic and description of what you want thru email on their site. They send you back a quote in euro. If you agree to the price they send you directions on where to send it. If you have any more questions you could just pm me as well.

I have had CarsDream modify four wheels for me. Never an issue and always first class work.

Porsche9 05-12-2015 12:34 PM

Good to know. It looks like a quality result for very reasonable money. The dollar being strong at the moment helps. Thanks.

tommy583 05-12-2015 01:18 PM

carsdream.com. There is a contact page on the website.

For the air bag, Google Fibernew and see if they have a franchise in your area. I have had them dye two air bags for me and they came out great. Very reasonable price too.

Well Chuck I also have to dye the dashboard. I changed the whole interior of my car from red to black. The only thing left to change is the dash. Taking the dash off and replacing it with a black leather one seems like a giant PITA. So I have been researching what is the best place to get leather dye all evening. If it comes out terrible I may have to replace it after all. I hope not

tommy583 05-13-2015 03:34 PM

Well I ordered the dye for my airbag and dashboard today. I ended up going with Leather World Tech. They have gotten the most good reviews on here. I'll post before and after pics when i'm done.

Good deal. Are you removing the dash or doing it in place?

Pdwight 05-13-2015 05:55 PM

Leather world is who I used for my seats and carpet, let it dry longer than you think you need to...order extra propellant unless you have a gun

I'm going to do the dash in place. I don't really want to remove the dash, as it seems to be a PITA. But if I screw up dying it I will have to remove it to put a new one in I guess. I couldn't find any threads on here about dying the dash, so I may be the first one to attempt it. I have one of my old seat backs I can practice on first. My plan is to take off the gauge cluster, speaker grills, side vents, hvac / stereo surround and plastic strips in the middle of the dash. I will be painting the strips in silver while they are off, as well as the plastic airbag buttons on the doors. This project can't turn out any worse than my brake job.....I hope. If anyone has done this before and want's to give me some tips I'd appreciate it.
