Not important at all. Toss it out and never think about it again.

CHRISP357 05-05-2015 07:52 PM

Muffler bearing.

Bearing & cover $600
Labor $250
Came to my shop from 8-10:30 pm

KRAM36 05-05-2015 08:53 PM

Looks in great shape for the amount of miles on your car. Did you pull the rubber seal and look at the grease?

Hell no!! I don't want it to fail! (Is that what fellow IMS'rs do? Pull the rubber?)

Was going to sell it on eBay as a single row IMS bearing, which it is. $850. 500 mile, 3-day limited lifetime warranty. Warranty void if installed by a man.

Most people open up the baring to see what kind of condition it was in.

What's your eBay user name? I would like to avoid it lol.

hmm, I found one of those too. Looked to be in the same shape as yours, so I simply put it back in:eek:

No. As clearly pointed out every time I mention that to some newbie, just one actually works. :(

This place is just too nice to play mean to anybody.

steved0x 05-06-2015 04:48 AM

It is a brake rotor lip bearing.

kk2002s 05-06-2015 05:25 AM

Upon closer examination - That is the Swivel seat bearing
That is the Fat guy, mid-life crisis Porsche convertible option for guys that have a hard time getting into and out of a low sports car

I need that

When you find it - does that make you a winner or _______?

I'll take a F for $250.

I'll take a K for $300.

Now I'd like to buy a vowel. How about a U for $450?

Every oil change is "NO WHAMMIES, NO WHAMMIES!! "

Perfectlap 05-06-2015 11:39 AM

Why are you selling? It's fine....

WD40 and put back in.

BIGJake111 05-06-2015 11:43 AM

What size spacers for this rim to fit my boxster? (Can I stance it out?)

Oh, it's got wobble, baby!

randy7601 05-06-2015 12:17 PM

It's part of the rear blinker fluid regulator, which is part of the passenger rear fog light circuit. Fortunately, the Schrödinger circuit overrides this. Typical German redundancy.

tnoice 05-06-2015 12:20 PM

If it fell out, it probably was not meant to be there anyway. Just toss it!

Mechanics haven't even had time to look into it. They do doubt it is ims though (only based on verbal description and the fact that the car didn't die) which is good!

Duezzer 05-06-2015 07:28 PM

Took an in depth look at that thing that fell out of your car. I am thinking that it is the thingy that keeps that other thingy from touching those other thingies. If it ain't that I suspect it is for something German.

Google has no results for part number EE04DU17 made out of 09G2 low-alloy steel, therefore that part doesn't exist.
