I asked that same question a couple weeks ago when attending my first rally race. There, they make all the drivers remove their floor mats. It's so the mat doesn't jam up in the pedals. A couple of jack legs had to ruin it for everybody. But there will always be aftermarket. (Hopefully it won't void your warranty.)
