Boxster crash in Toronto

I hope the driver is okay. Needed some speed to do that kind of damage.

Porsche crashes into parked cars in the Beaches - Toronto - CBC News

Too many Canadian members to speculate on a screen name.

Go check that top speed thread for Canadian posts?

Geezz . Not me.

brjak 04-22-2015 09:36 AM

Luckily not me. Hope he's ok!

Perfectlap 04-22-2015 09:59 AM

I love when the news reports this on the news... as news... simply because it's a Porsche.

I'd say based on that damage the car was doing 105 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Exactly, if it was a Toyota they wouldn't even mention the make.

tnoice 04-22-2015 10:14 AM

Ouch, RIP little boxster.

In reverse.

We Canadians do everything backwards.

Yep. My nephew moved to Canada and married a gal he met online. He posted the bagged milk on his Facebook page.

They put the milk in a container, like what we would put Kool-Aid in.

Nope - mine's black. And intact. Plus that's 2200 km from here.

paulofto 04-22-2015 08:46 PM

Bag Milk . . .

Okay, let's clear up the bag milk thing. It's an Eastern Canada thing. I lived in the Toronto area for 28 years and yes, you can by 3 bags totalling 4 quarts all in another bag.

Now I am back in Western Canada, just outside Winnipeg, Mark T's town, 2200 kilometres from the red Boxster crash and the bagged milk. Buffalo is closer to bagged milk than we are.

BTW you guys in the US have what you call 'Smarties', up her 'Smarties are candy coated chocolate, kinda like M&Ms, yours are weird fruity things. Those aren't 'Smarties'. We call those things 'Rockets. Don't ask me why.

Lots of other stuff too.Like our beer has actual alcohol. And flavour, that's right FLAVOUR, with a 'U'.

Timco 04-23-2015 04:01 AM

The U is for "Man, that's nasty! U can have it!!"

I not getting why milk in bags seems either strange or undesirable. You'd rather pour it from a waxed box? Or a plastic jug that will remain unchanged for hundreds of years in some landfill?

The big advantage to the bags is ease of storage. You can have a bunch of them in the freezer and get them out as needed. They stack. We used to be able to get them here, but, now that I think about it, I haven't seen them around for some time.

The other advantage is that it prevents individuals of questionable manners and breeding from drinking directly from the carton.

What, they (you) don't know about recycling in Canada ? Are the bags recyclable? The jugs are!

I feel really badly for the owners of the 3 parked cars he plowed into!

Mark_T 04-23-2015 05:09 AM

Good point. We have recycling programs but participation is optional. I put my jugs in the recycle bin, but not everyone does.

OklahomaBoxster 04-23-2015 05:36 AM

Maybe he was trying to drink directly from a bag of milk. Trust me, that's no easy task! In this case he did more than just spill his milk.

I doubt it was speed, I'd say meth or alcohol was what was needed for that kind of damage.;)

Haha, good one.

He had to be moving pretty briskly, popped the headlight out and the fuel door is missing.
