Window issue

So I'm helping another forum member troubleshoot an issue with the windows. They drop when the doors are opened and go back up when closed. When releasing the top latch the windows don't drop. We swapped the microswitch into my car and it worked fine in my '00. He still has no windows with my microswitch and my window switches. We checked fuses (B6, C3, D1) and they are good. What should we check next? We're trying to get both our Boxsters ready to go to Hershey.

Top control module. Swap those. See if it works.

Drove down to CT today to help continue troubleshooting this. We swapped the top control relay as Timco suggested. No change.

So to recap:
Currently everything functions correctly on his '01 except the windows. The windows do drop when you open the doors but not when releasing the top to put it down. The top does function correctly. The window switches do nothing. We swapped his window switches, microswitch, and top control relay into my car and they all work fine in my '00. We swapped mine into his and windows still wont work.

We've checked the fuses and they are fine. Is there a relay just for the windows? I didn't see one listed on the fuse and relay diagram.

Stumped.

Let me see if I'm understanding this correctly. Once the top is open the windows wont go down at all, even using the console buttons?

Yes, and the windows don't go down at all with the top up.

This might sound crazy, but I've read post that this works. Put the top down open the door and press the window down button and slam the door shut. It jars the motor in the door which can get stuck after sitting for a while.

Heck I'm down for trying crazy. I'll pass the info along and let you know how he makes out.
