World Car of the Year announces finalists
Posted Apr 5th 2006 8:33AM by Erin Mays Filed under: New York Auto Show, Etc. "The second annual World Car of the Year award will go to one of three finalists, announced this week -- the BMW 3-series, the Mazda MX-5 and the Porsche Cayman S. Twenty seven new vehicles from around the world were in the running, and after narrowing those down to just three, KPMG, which oversees the counting of the ballots, will draw the winner at the New York Auto Show next week. " IMHO, all 3 are worthy Finalists... Happy Motoring!... Jim'99 |
The new ZO6??????????
Sorry, I think leaving this car off is bogus. A Mazda Miata?? Give me a break!! |
Could the Z06 be left off the list due to the low quality of the interoir?
|
Maybe the Miata is there due to bang-for-the-buck. As impressive as the Z06's numbers are, most people can't afford it.
I sat in the new Miata the other day. It seems bigger than the old one. No Lexus IS350 on the list? (I'm sure there's arguements for many cars to have been on the list). |

Let me see, I have to pay extra for full leather and a good stereo???? |
The Z06 is a great car but maybe it doesn't meet the 2006 World Car of the Year criteria:
"Cars considered must be sold in at least five countries on at least two continents prior to January 1 of the year of the award." Either that, it's some sort of conspiracy. |
