Planning a get together for guys in Ontario.

Hey ladies and gents. Trying to plan a get together in the next couple of weeks for all the people from Ontario. We should try to get a head count and work out a location with the best driving roads that is semi convenient for everyone to get to. Who is in?

Giller 03-31-2015 07:41 AM

Wow, that's some big geography to cover....but worth a shot. Who on here is a member of the PCA Upper Canada? They have some good rides throughout the year. BoxsterSteve and myself joined up this year to hit a few (it's only about $50 or so). There's a run on May 2nd starting in Bracebridge and running through the Muskokas that we are eyeing up I believe.

BoxsterSteve 03-31-2015 11:52 AM

Anyone?
Hello... hello... hello...
Need the bloody car out first, dammit!

brjak 03-31-2015 11:57 AM

I'm in. East GTA area

robbiex1 03-31-2015 02:21 PM

I'm in the northeast GTA. I'm in for a meet!

crooster 03-31-2015 02:53 PM

The PCA UCR Spring Muskoka fun run is likely full already, or very close to it. If you are thinking about it contact David Forbes asap. Porsche of London also runs a late May fun run, but the roads cannot compare to Muskoka.

Heiko 03-31-2015 05:14 PM

I'd be in as well but the ol' garage queen is still sitting pretty in hibernation. I'm waiting until all the sand and salt is off the road before I get her out.
I was up in Barrie last week and the roads are just coated in sand still; it will likely be a few weeks yet before they get cleaned up.

I'd be interested, if I have her out that is. I'm in the Ottawa area...

DrCactus 04-01-2015 02:39 AM

pony13ca 04-01-2015 10:55 AM

ルーカス 04-01-2015 11:24 AM

So people are interested. How does the weekend of may 23rd sound for everyone?

crooster 04-01-2015 03:45 PM

I will be on my way to NC for the Blue Ridge Boxster Summit!

DrCactus 04-02-2015 10:18 AM

May 23rd weekend no good as I have my son that weekend... following weekend works!

moresquirt 04-02-2015 03:54 PM

I am in for sure,i live 15 min south off Bracebridge, never been involved in a ride event before.Just tell me were and when,i will be there.thx

ルーカス 04-02-2015 03:59 PM

Ok so I obviously need to get more organized here. Who ever is in email me at lr@iqbridge.ca with contact information. I'm trying to get a head count so I can call in advance to places where we can eat along a certain route so they may accommodate us.

Shoot me some dates and let's see when everyone is aboard weather permitting..

Giller 04-02-2015 04:15 PM

Head count is good - but where is important. Ottawa is a long ways away for some of us....are we shooting for somewhere in the middle then?

Exactly. I wouldn't even mind going a little bit further your way for some better driving roads. The roads around 1000 Islands are good so I've heard. Can anyone vouch?

Sounds like a lot of fun. A group of Boxster enthusiasts Dallas, Summer 2013http://i.imgur.com/oDHWPZw.jpg?1

If there is enough interest in meeting in SW Ontario (Kitchener/Guelph Area), perhaps we can even do a couple meets around here. I got three nice rides in mind...

First is 103 miles round trip and highlights Belfountain, Hockley Valley Road, Lunch in Orangeville then over to Elora Gorge, and a stop at an old covered bridge

Second is a 200 mile ride through the Wellington country country side up through Durham, Flesherton, with stop at Eugena Falls, Beaver Valley, Lunch in Meaford (I might be able to arrange a stop at the Coast Guard station and get us abord the 47' Search and Rescue Cutter) and then a nice back through Beaver Valley's Scenic back roads.

Third up is a much shorter 90 mile ride through some escarpment county roads towards Burlington, with a side trip to "Oakville Porsche Centre" then back up via Burlington/Waterdown (Snake road) and back up towards Guelph.

Heiko.....those all sound awesome. hockley valley is a great drive, and yes, up around Meaford is nice too. I'll bet we can get a group together for those runs. I'm in if we can figure out the timing! BoxsterSteve? You in?

BoxsterSteve 04-03-2015 02:44 AM

Absolutely! Let's roll fellas.

Ya too far away for me as well. The 994 guys do a run from Ottawa down# 7 to the back roads to Westport. I think all P cars are welcome. This is a speed respected run. ie. no race car driver wanna be`s.

What about race cars? :D

Giller 04-07-2015 06:12 AM

Alright, for those of us in SWO - let's start tossing some dates out there and see what we can come up with. Heiko has put together some fun routes for us!

Heiko 04-07-2015 11:06 AM

Let's aim for Sat May 2nd or 3rd... whichever date the weather looks better.
Although on Sunday May 3rd is the Toronto Open house.
You guys pick the route....

Open House | PCA UCR
Date: Sunday May 3rd, 2015
Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Location: 427 Auto Collision – 395 Evans Avenue (Evans & Kipling, east of 427), Toronto
Cost: Free admission
Enquiry: pcaucr2015openhouse@gmail.com

We could always pick a route east say Peterborough Lift Locks as a destination and meet up with the Ottawa gang later in the summmer :D

Just an idea

brjak 04-07-2015 11:55 AM

Just thought of another great ride for the area here.
105mile round trip along the grand river to Cambridge and Brantford with a stop
at "The Guild of Automotive restorers"
http://guildautorestore.com/
and then through the Hamilton/Dundas Valley into the back roads of Campbellville and back.

crooster 04-08-2015 04:16 PM

Let me suggest a slight modification. South end of Cambridge head to the other side of the Grand River and take 24a to Paris. Nicer road!

Heiko 04-08-2015 04:31 PM

Noted - haven't done that road yet :-)

Heiko 04-12-2015 03:44 PM

Well the car is officially out for the season :-)
Just have an exhaust swap to do and I'm ready to roll :-)

Giller 04-28-2015 03:50 PM

BoxsterSteve and I are thinking of taking a run this Saturday in SWO. Plan is to leave KW around 11:30 and head out. Still not sure where as yet....
Anyone else hitting the road on Saturday?

crooster 04-29-2015 03:51 PM

I will be heading up to Muskoka for the PCA Muskoka Fun Run on Sat, otherwise I probably would have tagged along.
