And Now for Something Completely Different

So I may have had an aneurism or something, but I'm in the market for a 65 to 67 Jag XKE roadster. The price is in the newer Box territory. Am I insane? I'm actually ready to drink warm beer if that's what it takes (i.e. Lucas). Does anyone have experience with these? What say you?

I have never been a fan of that car's looks. Only driving simulators of that car and it handles terrible.

If you think working on an 986 has its idiosyncrasies, just wait to get one of those cars..............

If I could afford one and find one I would buy my wife one. She has always wanted one.... a yellow one!

I would expect the handling to be somewhere south of a drunken sloth, but the look! Enzo Ferrari said it the most beautiful car ever designed. Who am I to disagree?

I love my Boxster, but before it's creation I always loved the XKE. Such a beautiful car.

In 1967 I was 8 yrs old and our family vacation that yr was driving to LA. There were XKE Jags everywhere in LA. It was so cool.

But would I own one? Ummm, probably not. Unless I was going to start a museum and just look at it. Not reliable enough.

Look but don't touch

It won't run most of the time, and when it does the handling is terrible. They make a nice lawn ornament, but beyond that they're simply a headache. I like the shape of the coupe, but not the 2+2. I wish I still had mine because they're worth a boat load of money today.

I've always had a liking for the one turned into a hearse from that movie Harald and Maude.
