Out into the sunlight!

After five months of hibernation I took my 2000 S out from the darkness into the sunlight. Put the battery in, held my breath and turned the key. Started right up. Had it idle and warm up to normal temp while I folded the cover and drove ten miles from the storage facility to home. Listening the the music of that lovely flat 6, shifted carefully a couple times then, when I was sure everything was operating well, started driving it normally. Only 26 degrees so it was too cold, at least for me, to put the top down. Automotive bliss!

I am so jealous! My '02 S comes out of hibernation May 1 (weather permitting)...
I've been walking everywhere since Nov. 7 and have almost forgotten how that flat six sounds like...;)

I bet you know what summer is !
We had such a warm, mild winter here that I drove her nearly every day. Warmest winter on record worldwide (except for the east).

Why, oh, why are you so cruel...
Us northerners are already in therapy from Boxster withdrawal. :D

Man, I b*tch about the weather here in Montreal but you guys in the maritimes have really been mistreated this year!

Another week or so yet I think. Got major jealous today though - was driving through KW and spotted a nice black 986 cruising around. Wanted to trade places with him, that was for sure.

it is with a heavy heart that I will inform all of you northerners, I have driven my boxy with the top down during every month of the year. I will admit there were a couple of times which I needed to wear a jacket, but the heated seats in my 05 needed to be worked out. I know what you're thinking. "who needs heated seats in a boxster in new Orleans?" the car was purchased used... it is a option I would have passed on, but it was nice to have for those rides.

We havd a raby hot day even by Phoenix standards. It hit a record today with 95! Normal is high 70s to low 80s. I am sure hit is going to send the snow birds home.

Yes, but letting ours hibernate over the winter months only makes them that much more exciting to drive when spring arrives!

Got mine out yesterday for a nice little run to Guelph. Top stayed up however!

DrCactus 03-30-2015 04:02 AM

Snowing again here today - those out on the East-Coast should just keep the car in storage cause by the time that snow melts you will be ranging up your xmas lights again. As bad as it is here, it was not nearly as bad as it was for you folks... our prayers are with you.

amitmishra4 03-30-2015 06:04 AM

Took mine out yesterday for a nice spin(with the top-down). Wasn't too bad at all here in NJ - high 40s low 50's. With the blower on HI, my nice warm heated seats and windows up, I did not feel the chill one bit. Put a nice grin on my face.

kk2002s 03-30-2015 07:12 AM

Finally got to drive a bit yesterday as well. Kept top up (Plastic window)
3rd/4th drive since Christmas
1st drive since I replaced Tie rods & Lower control arms
I felt like I was slalom driving trying to avoid all the Pot holes
Now I need to get under neath and make sure everything is still tight

I accidentally set my speed limit alarm to 75 mph and that just gave my wife fuel to comment on my speeding as that alarm went off constentlly
