Durametric

I know someone who is selling a version 5 durametric cable and software. Woud it be worth buying or is it too outdated?

See my post on this subject elsewhere, this is not a deal.

ok so it's not worth it. dos anyone know where is the best place to get it from in Canada. With the dollar exchange, duties and shipping from durametrics t becomes quite pricey.

Your best bet would be to try and find someone in Canada selling one. I got mine off the 6speedonline.com for sale section. $180 shipped with 2 vins left on it.

Also post a WTB thread for it.

Ask Durametric if they have a refurbished unit. I got mine for quite a bit off the list price and it looks new. Full 3 VINs.

For around $350 for the genuine Durametric, what's expensive about it? The time it saves diagnosing problem CEL's + checking the health of your car electrical & mechanical systems, its a steal. Sure it sits in the cupboard 99% of the time, but wait until you spend a few frustrating days tracking down a fault & then, having failed to find the problem, you must take the car to your favourite shop ($$$) - you will soon realise its true worth.
I bought mine about 5 years ago for about the same price and within 3 weeks it paid for itself by diagnosing a faulty MAF (warranty claim).
I consider the Durametric as just about the most important tool in my garage.....

I see you got a response over on 6speedonline.com. What did he offer you?
