Need Help !
Hi,
I recently purchased a porsche boxster. It came with the middle windscreen deflector, but did not come with the two mesh inserts. Does anyone know where I can buy just the inserts? And how much difference do they make? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve |
You are looking at $150+ depending on where you buy them...I honestly dont notice a difference with or without them....

They make a difference. You can often find them on eBay or you can source them from SunCoast, etc. You can see them here: http://www.eagleday.com/expr.html Hope this helps... Happy Motoring!... Jim'99 |
mesh wind deflecors
Hi,
Thanks for the website link. WOW $129.95 each, I guess I'll keep searching EBAY. Thanks everyone. |
actually, $129 is pretty good.
|
I got both on ebay for $120, shipping included. they really don't make much difference.

The roll bar inserts do provide about the only place on the car to mount your PCA club badge. That, plus they rattle, providing a little white noise if you don't have the radio on.

Only $107.40 on our site, $9.00 shipping.
http://www.epiqautosport.com/main.php?txtMode=products.prid.227.1143 Remember to order the correct side because they are different from one another. Be careful not to get used screens because many (on ebay and others) have glued tabs, which do not hold at all, of course. They seem to come off once the car is about 4 years old, as the clips have been depressed so long they start to bend backwards and don't have the same 'spring' anymore. |
man, i thought that was per pair. ouch.

i hate my mesh windscreens. they rattle alot. i never use them. without them the car feels like its carved from granite. with them its a rattle box.

Hi,
Use a small piece of double-sided Foam Tape on each edge and Clip, this has the effect of wedging them into place as well as adhering them. They will absolutely NOT rattle, or come loose at high speed either. Hope this helps... Happy Motoring!... Jim'99 |
i used felt on my last box. it did help a bit. ill try the foam on this one.

I like the idea someone here posted a while back... use a couple of black zip ties on each side to hold them on. They can't fall off, they're held tightly so they don't rattle, and thieves won't be able to just pop them out and run. They'll hardly be noticeable, unless you have bright red or yellow painted rollbars. :)
