2.5L Transmisson in a 2.7L

Good Evening,
I hope this question has not been beat to death already.

I am wondering if i can clean swap a 99 boxster transmission (Tiptronic) into my 2001 (tiptronic) without any modifications? I am aware the ratios will be different and my speedo will be off, but is that the only issue?

I do not think the ratios are different.

The TIP in my '99 was different than the TIP in my '01S in that I could use the TIP buttons without being in manual mode on the later version of the trans. You'd probably lose that capability if you went with an earlier TIP.

There have to be hundreds of model year correct ones available in wrecks from which the engines have already been pulled.

Has anyone attempted this?
