Painted Calipers On Base 986

I have wanted to paint the calipers on my box for sometime and was considering doing it this spring. I wanted to get some opinions on what color looks best on Arctic Silver. Personally I really like the way the Red looks on the S model but I already debadged the car and I don't want to look like I am trying to pass it off for something it's not.

Go with the Red and dismiss the haters because it looks good? Yellow maybe? I was considering new wheels but I don't think that will be in the budget for a while. Or I could dip the wheels black?
Looking for any kind of insight on what might look good. Really i'm just dying for the spring so i can start playing with my favorite toy again
I am also planning on getting clear side markers this year.

Picture below so you can see what kind of wheels I have

Thanks for any input!

Do the the brakes red or shiny black looks good (yellow is reserved for carbon brakes) - all with new logos.
I like those wheels - similar to classic Fuchs - try doing the spokes in black or dark silver but leave the outside rim silver (or polish).

Go ahead and do the red with new logos, it will pop!

Red w/ new colored center caps for the wheels!

I have all the stuff to do it. Hopefully I'll get to it in the spring.

Red will look great!

Red looks great. Don't sweat the "poser" aspect. Only an S driver with a penis envy complex would even notice (I might draw the line at adding an "S" badge on the trunk). ;)
It's your car. Make it yours! :)

Its your car. Paint them purple if you want!

Actually, I have a Silver BoxS with red calipers and ebay Porsche stickers...I think it looks great!

I kept mine black, installed new decals, and then clear coated... Not bad for over 270,000 miles on them huh.

Agree with go for the RED!

Keep the rims as they are, they look great! Paint the calipers red, or possibly blue.

I did yellow on mine. Added the original Porsche lettering later. Don't have a pic of that though. Looks a lot better with the letters thoughhttp://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1424359302.jpg

I painted the calipers on my 993 cab and my BMW 5 series. I went with red on the Porsche and black on the BMW. IMHO, I would go with red on the Boxster. The kit I used was G2-Manufacturing brake caliper paint system. They sell them on eBay in a variety of colors. It is a brush on method that requires two coat and look great when finished.

That's my complex!

The yellow with Black wheels does looks good

But I'm a traditional penis envy guy - I prefer the Red with white letters

I went with red calipers and silver letters to match the silver paint on the car. You can get the letters on ebay. They even sent me 6 sets of letters, I guess in case you mess a few up.

I'm glad the overwhelming response is to ignore the haters and go with red. It really does look the best.
My list of spring projects is becoming quite ambitious. Hopefully the weather gets better soon!

I painted mine red and put white PORSCHE high temp vinyl lettering (bought off eBay) on mine and they've looked good for quite some time, even with track use.

The paint has flaked off on one though because I had to rebuild the caliper and it got some abuse off the car.
