porsche ipod interface question

I have installed a Porsche ipod interface in my 05 boxy s, with the bose speakers and the pcm 2.0 system. when playing music, the quality seems to be poor. the speakers are producing a cracking sound with the bass notes, and the sound quality has a "tinny" sound to it. is this common with this system? has anyone else noticed a similar occurrence? any suggestions? while using the normal stereo function the sound system sounds phenomenal, but with the ipod running it is not so good.

What kind of ipod is it? Did you check the equalizer settings?

the ipod i am using is a ipod classic. as far as the equalizer settings, i have played with the bass and treble settings, with limited results.... better but not great. my greatest gain has been from playing around with the dip switches which are to be set by the frequency range on the radio. as stated earlier, better but not great.

I'm using this one and it sounds great.
I choose this one because of the USB has more phone and iPod options available.
I haven't tried my phone yet, but my iPod nano sounds great.
I can recommend it.

Mine's an 02 with the upgraded surround stereo, so not sure how that would compare to what you have in the 05. But - I have the iPod attachment and my nano sounds great. Certainly not tinny as yours is. Keep digging, must be another issue.
