Coolant leak in front of right rear tire - is this a symptom for the tank leak?

I'm aware that the coolant tank leak is an issue, but I don't know where that leak typically is. I see coolant dripping when the car stops in front of the rear right tire. Tank or something else?

Most likely it's leaking from around your coolant cap - it's a pretty common problem.

When the cap doesn't seat tight, it allows coolant to seep up around the cap where it pools in the "catch basin" where your oil and coolant cap live. From that point there is a drain tube that runs down and "pees" the coolant out near the RR tire.

Best thing to do is first - make sure your cap is on correctly and tight. It's easy to not have it on correctly. Go ahead and take it off and re-install, making sure it threads on correctly and you have it screwed down completely. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a new cap. But get the good one - Porsche has updated the cap - it's blue. Don't get the black one.

More than likely this will solve the problem.

Thanks for the advice. I don't see any coolant around the cap when I'm observing the leak, and i do have the updated cap installed. I will try and get a new cap and see if that helps, but if it doesn't is that where the leak could be stemming from?

What color is the coolant tank itself? Is it white or yellowish...yellowish and you most likely have a split in the tank itself. Another test, pull the trunk carpet up, crack in the tank and the floor will be wet in one or more corners.

Water pump is bad.

On my 01 S, it was a cracked reservoir tank. The temperature gauge never got higher than slightly above 180, but the warning lamp was blinking.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'll pull the carpet up and check for any leakage there - my tank is pretty yellow so I wouldn't be surprised if it was cracked.
