What is that and why was I not invited.
What is this blue connector? It was disconnected when I got into the engine and making the vacuum noise. I plugged it up and it got noticeably quieter but did not make a difference on engine idle. It has a cable sticking out of it as well.
Please forgive the messy motor. This is the first time I've gotten into the motor and I'll be cleaning it up soon. Poor thing. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1422830930.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1422830948.jpg |
What size engine is that. I have a 2.7L and my AOS sits in that area but I dont see it in your engine bay just the tube that connects the AOS to the Throttle body
|
That's the dipstick tube. Looks like the blue is a repair done with shrink wrap.

This makes sense considering I couldn't check the oil with the dipstick. Thank you. I'll add that to the list of stuff I need to repair. Guess I need to seal it so there isn't a vacuum leak.
This is the 2.7 engine. The aos is just to the right of that. Just missed it in the picture. |
I used 1/4 inch fuel line as a temporary repair on mine. The plastic hose slips in snugly so there is no need for a clamp. It worked so well it is solidly on the bottom of my list of repairs.

JB weld Putty, is also a good option.
very easy to apply until you will get to replace the tube. |
the 1/4 hose will be alot easier than the jb weld. the hose will not require the amount of surface prep of the jb weld, and will not crack.
