bought another boxster, want to swap parts

so my 01 s (second one) hit again. so I bought another 01 S. except this one kinda lackluster Vs my old one. so I was wondering, first; if I swap the 17s for my old 18s, will I need to calibrate my speedo. (both factory turbo twists) and most importantly the headlights. my older S had the factory HIDs that auto adjusted. will I swap those in for the halogens with ease.

also if anyone wants spare parts let me know. plan on selling the engine and transmission and other parts that weren't damaged.

Your speedo should not need recalibration. The side walls are just taller on the 17's vs the 18s and the circumference should be the same. A quick check with a tape measure will verify this.

You can certainly direct fit the HIDs into the new car, but since it didn't come with HIDs from the factory, they will not self-level the way your old car did nor will they rotate upward to fill in the high beam halogens unless you buy and install the control box for that feature.

sorry to hear of the wreck, what part of La. are you in... greetings from new orleans.
as stated from randall, the 17 and 18's are just different sidewall heights and the overall height is close enough to not require speedo calibration.
