275 Tires on 265 rim

Hello ,does anyone have a side picture profile with a 275/35 or30 /18 tire on rim and how it looks in the wheel finder. Need new rear tires and i am thinking of ordering 275's but dont want it to look funny. I have 265/35/18 on Carrera light rims now. Is there a big difference? Guy a shop said 5mm on each side come out more.I am just going for looks to make wheel look wider. Thanks.

As Goldilocks foundout the hard way: 275 is too tall causing a loss of acceleration, 285 is too wide causing contact with body, & makes the wheel look narrower.
265 is just right because that's what Porsche engineers designed the car to have.

A 275/35 is still shorter than the 265/40 on the 987's.

Porsche engineers also designed the IMS...... Just saying :)

Hello. I see on forms/online sites alot peeps on 986 boxsters have a 275 tire, more of the ones that have been moded/lowered etc. Well a a 275 fit on Carrera light rim? but like BYprodriver said 275 too tall at 35 series? Would it not be more like a 19inch rim setup in the rear?

235 on 8 1/2" and 275 on 10" rims, with ROW MO30 suspension. I went back to stock sizes. Couldn't see the need to lug around the extra rubber.

235-40ZR18 on 18X8 front and 275-35ZR18 on 18-9 rear

This is correct.

But if you're running a 9" wide rim, a 275 is not recommended.

I can't see you're pics. at work, but the Super Sport lists wheel widths of 9-11" for the 275/35-18.
