AARG! How do you remove the windscreen??

It seems like it should be easy enough...the tabs are designed to lift up. That's what the manual says, and that's what forum folks say. But I swear, if I pull up any harder, they're sure to snap right off. What gives?

FYI, one detail I noticed in the manual. It appears a top portion of the clips pops up to make way for the upward motion of the lever. Not happening for me, though...is this the problem? I did try carefully prying on it with a screwdriver to make it pop up, but it didn't want to budge, and I didn't want to break it.

Push the tabs towards the middle of the car. The windscreen pushes backwards.

(I had to go check to make sure I wasn't imagining. :D)

just reach back to grab your coat from behind the windstop, it should pop right out as your hand hits it :P at least that's what happened to me, was able to pop it back in with no damage to the clips at all haha

Tried again, and a piece snapped off. I'll let the dealer mess with it, and try not to be ashamed I can't figure out a stupid clip.

Pelican parts has the replacement clips that you now need.

Even though the clips look like they are meant to move toward the center, they actually move towards the rear, I snapped both of mine, bought new ones at the P dealer for about $5 each.

Bumping this old thread.

I recently broke both of mine (Boxster noob), new clips on the way from Deutschland.

How did you replace them?

They snap right in but depending on how your old ones broke you may have to get the old piece out. I had to carefully drill mine out and they the new one went right in.

Thanks.

I might have to extract the old part carefully.

Looks like it's a peg & hole type of hinge, broke the male part off inside of the female side.

Giggity.

On the underside there is a small cutout (shown in above picture), stick a small flat head screw driver in there, and the broken tabs just popped right out.

New tabs in place.
Took a bit of finagling to get them in there (without breaking) but they're in.
