Anyone not have a problem with their Boxster lately ?

Me,
Not one. Hardtop on, Blizzaks on all four corners.Heater works great, rear de-fog works too. Winter bring it ! As long is the snow is less than 3".

Had a big problem with mine for quite a while! :(

Here in CA Chevron Supreme @ $3.65.9 for most of the year. Now it's $3.05 so Happy Holidays! :)

Just had to replace the motor mount. Not really a problem, just maintenance that is expected on a 13 years car.

We are sitting at $2.45 for super. Fill ups are getting to the point were it feels cheap. When it gets below the cost of a gallon of milk in my book it's cheap.

Haven't had any issues with mine since I bought it in October of 2012.

I have two (3 counting the Part'ster) Boxsters that I bought with some issues. No new issues since I bought them and they get better every week.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1419024186.jpg

Mine has had a CEL for the secondary air system diaphragm failure for about a year now and other than about 2 mpg less has run better than ever. I'm getting it fixed before the next smog check is due in July. While they're in there I'm going to have the AOS replaced.

Bought my car in June, put a bit over 2k miles on it since then, Zero issues.

Have had my first '99 for nearly two years. Once the initial normal maintenance repairs were caught up it has been a delight. Zero issues.
My second '99, same thing. Caught up the neglected maintenance right off the bat and it has since not missed a beat. (Even though I've only put 900 miles on it so far)

Been 2 yrs since I had a mechanical problem with my Boxster. The temp sensor went out. Inexpensive part + half day DIY.

Replaced the AOS on the Cayman this summer.

LOTS of carefree miles this yr.

almost 3 years of ownership with no problems at all, only one that I can think of is the parking brake micro switch

Retroman1969 12-19-2014 11:52 PM

Yikes RedTele! I think I might be more envious of your garage than Jay Leno's! :)

tires, gas and oil changes and stay on top of the regular maintenance on 3 of them takes some time and effort, but they have 78,000, 70,000 and 32,000 miles and very few issues that are unexpected. the secret is driving them regularly not leave them in the garage to get pissed off at you.

I had one replaced. They had to remove the intake and fuel sys that side. Some have tried a machined wrench or jamming a nut on it ? I think 3 hrs.

1. The headlight washer pump failed. When you add fluid it pours right down on the asphalt - and on your new Sketcher shoes. Constant low fluid dash light ON

2. Slow leak in front tire. I don't want to scratch my wheels so I'm leaving it as-is until its time for new tires. Using a bicycle pump to inflate the front when I take the 986 for a spin

3. gas evaporator valve/solenoid? forgot the name or real function. Making a occasional hissing sound so that's busted or if not it will be soon

4. Cluster's lamp failed. One of them, the speedo side

5. The cap on the cruise control stick fell twice in one month

6. License plate light died. Just noticed yesterday while taking pictures of the car

7. replaced the battery two weeks ago or something

car's falling apart man

I drove 700+ miles today, no issues whatsoever. My 986 purred like a kitten the whole way!
