Choosing which model

Had a 2001 base for 4 years with zero issues, sold it about a year ago and now looking to replace. If money is not a real problem, which model should I choose?
06 - 08 still with IMS or go to the 09 no IMS but maybe DFI issues.

thanks ...Howe

Welcome back Howard...
I haven't heard of any DFI issues, maybe also try asking on 987 section of Rennlist.com

Hi Steve hope all is well,

Its funny you look at other makes and keep coming back to a Porsche.
Would love a 997 but they still seem to be overpriced here, wish our government
would allow private imports.

Thanks will have a look at Rennlist

Cheers ...H

Money is no object? 981 GTS :D

^^ I agree. 981 would be the way to go.

996 Turbo because lots of the M96 problems are absent. The appearance is so similar to the regular 996 that it drags it's price down. Eventually the classic car market will recognize the merit and support good prices Similar thing happened with 914-6 vs 914.

Just a pity the 996 Turbo engine isn't offered in the Boxster.

+1 on this!!!

986 are still bargains. Well most. 987s are great also. Horse power ofcourse on the later years so take your pick.

I personally plan on NEVER buying another M96 car. There are many other weaknesses in these engines than the IMS bearing. These engines were designed when Porsche was on the brink of disappearing. Therefore, I suggest 2009 and newer...;) As one person said; "I don't need the drama!"

see #6 -there is an easy alternative
