Will Tiptronic M030 work on manual tran. ?

I know ( I think ) there is a difference in suspension components between a tip and a manual. So the question on the table will a M030 suspension off of a tip fit/work on a manual trans. car ? Any negatives in doing this ?

I wondered the same thing, the 986 S ROW M030 for manual is several hundred $$$ more than the tip version. At one time I thought I saw that it was spring rates due to different weights? Hopefully someone will jump in with the real answer.

Yes the tip kit will fit and in my experience works well. I had a new tip kit fitted to my 2000 S and it handles better than my 550 which has the M030 from the factory. Admittedly the 550 is on old suspension. You get a bit more rake and slightly stiffer rear springs.

I'm busy avoiding work, so I did a quick search. Although I can't help answer your question, I found a really well made DIY video about shock/strut installation:

I vote: Yes, and agree: Spring rate.

I haven't had any problems. I saved some dough and the slightly higher spring rate in the rear should make the car understeer less at the limit.

The parts that are different are the half shafts and the transmission mounts. Other then that suspensions parts are the same.

When I inquired about the differences the parts guy (Suncoast Porsche) told me that the TIP rear springs are indeed different.
