Transmission Linkage 1997 986

HELP!!!! Question I have been told that Porsche has a replacement transmission linkage, I have also heard that the new linkage does not fit on the old cables so you have to get the cables also is this true????

It appears that the transmission linkage PN 98642491306 was superseded by 98642491307, but both seem to be available.

See part #13 in the diagram below. Both PN's are available for ordering. You can always call Auto Atlanta to confirm which part you need and availability.
