Rear Plastic Window

An 8 inch section of the plastic rear window on the driver's side of my 1999 Boxster is coming apart from the top. Looks like it only need to be re-sewn. Any suggestions how to repair this.

If you want to sew up the failed stitches with the top still installed, get a sewing awl. Next option is an uphosltery shop. Keep in mind that the rest of the threading on the window is likely to fail sooner rather than later.

There has been a lot posted on this topic, which you'll find if you do a search.

Bottom line, replacing the plastic window is a do-able but visible repair. I'm told a boat shop is a good bet for this kind of work. Restoring the original factory look will require a replacement top.
