I know :/ But you see... when I wash up the boxster and dress up the trims a little it feels like getting a brand new car each time lol
This car always been my MD (monthly driver lol). Just recently dunno. We just had a good mate leaving us for some stupid cancer, and another totaled his spanking new 911 during our last Porsche day out (wet day). Guess we're all taking a break these weeks. Seen an email y'day about going out of town on the 6/7Dec so.... that will be the 986 w/end out I'm guessing. What kind of oil should I use?! Got a slow leak in the front tire, the thing is half inflated as I type, car full of dust. Embarrassing I tell ya... welfare stuff |
As it sits. I did pull off the car cover. The photo may not show it but the car is a mess from the last time at the track - run hard, put away wet. Needs a lot of clean up before the next event.

Pic taken @ 1430. Sporting her new boots that were mounted yesterday. Still looks as good as the day I brought her home. Probably even better since the paint correction.

Undercover until May. Will be sporting painted bumperettes and likely a painted spoiler frame in the spring.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1416605174.jpg
While in hibernation, I'll also drop in new front pads as there's next to no friction material left. |

^^^^ That's today in PA??? Hmmmm...
Just got back from a 4.5 hour Boston to NJ trip, with some quality time on the Merritt Parkway. Though I was pushing it with the low temps and the summer tires. Will swap them this weekend. -T http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1416607112.jpg |
Is that a 1986 Honda Interceptor 500 with an aftermarket pipe I see behind the drum kit?

Moving the '99 out of the 'garage' at work in the afternoon. It was rainy this morning.

Taken this afternoon. The previous owner would crap his pants if he knew his garage queen was driven at Laguna Seca, Kansas Speedway, and through the snow and salt of NE. She still gets compliments, even when she's dirty. Heading to the car wash tonight.
Last wk when I was putting the snows on for the first storm of the season, I calculated that Sydney had been spotlessly clean for 5 mo (just before Parade in June). Time for her to go back into regular duty now. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1416617009.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1416617033.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1416617050.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1416617176.jpg |

Oil Change, wash and wax, interior detail battery maintainer and covered it up. Like getting your prom date all dressed up and then just putting a tarp over her head and locking her in the closet. Except what I did to my boxster is not illegal. |
Yes, TO....it's an 86 VF500F w/F1 pipes. I still have the original exhaust somewhere. Sadly, it gets very little use since I got the Box. North Jersey roads/traffic, a fuel leak (and my increasing level of self-preservation) are not conducive to short rides anymore.
But at this point, I figure its an appreciating asset with low miles and 20 years of dry garage time. -T |

Car washed today
Slight drizzle this morning stopped and then just cloudy. Washed the Boxcar and applied the new black & brushed nickel crest. Had to use gasket from 'old' crest as the one sent would not stretch out nicely. Old gasket fit easily with no issues. Now car has sort of 'Outlaw' custom look that I favor. Thinking of having the wheels re finished in either chrome or current hyper silver. Now with snow in the forecast I don't think I will be driving her out anywhere soon.

Black crest
Here is a closeup of the crest or at least reasonably close.
