Zeintec-like hard top just released by Renegade Hybrids!

The more I follow Renegade Hybrids on FB the more I like this company. Talk about dogged determination to get a LS1 in a Boxster! They've been at it for a number of years and succeeded nicely in my opinion.

Their latest cool release is a Zeintec-like top for the Boxster that's sure to make a lot of us happy... I read that it's under $2000 and the fit and finish is excellent. Here's a pic...

If I keep my boxster I just might ditch my old worn out cloth top and go this direction. It's too hot and humid for a convertible most of the time in Houston anyway.

that's the boxtcar top - same cars they used in their promo shots from 4 years ago. from those who've seen it in person the fit and finish was rough - it is a race top not a street top (ie, no inner liner, no weatherstrip, screwed to front windshield frame, etc.). also note the side glass - you'd have to put 987 or 996 door glass in for it to work. finally, no rear hatch; instead there is that little trunk you can see on the grey car, and you have to get a kit to relocate oil and coolant fills. boxtcars was trying to sell the cf one on the grey car for $4k or something crazy like that.

That looks cool.. I am starting to build 986X now and plan to produce a few per year with my new engine combination. I'll have to look into these.

The guys at renegade supply us with some failed core engines, they have always been good to work with.
