headlight lens

the '97 boxster that i am considering to purchase have headlights that have turned yellowish. can the lenses be changed or does it have to be the whole assembly? if lenses can be changed, where can I get these lenses?

You can clean the lenses pretty easily. There are some products on the net for cleaning plastic head lights.

Other methods include wetsanding the lense with 1200 grit wet sandpaper using WD-40 for the "wet" as a lubricant. This will bring them right back to their original luster.

Hi,

The Headlights and lenses are an integral unit. As mentioned, you can reclaim them, but lots of elbow grease...

Can they be replaced? If so, is the parts dept the only source for these?
Both of my lenses have nickel size spots that appear yellowed and melted.

Try Plexus and Renovo. That should remove the yellowing but burns are not comning out.

Entire assembly needs to be changed....unless you can clean them with one of the methods listed...

Ironic you would use the word 'stealership' in this post, as the used litronics on ebay are most often stolen items, sold through a number of hands so the person selling on ebay has no connection with the actual theft - directly, anyway...
